Ranjit Singh and Sandeep Sandhu clinched victory in the IGU All India Mid Amateur and Seniors Championship that was organised at the Noida Golf Club from September 23 to September 27.

Ranjit Singh of the Mid Amateur category represented West Bengal in the Championship. He had a tough opening in the first round which he ended with a 75. Ending the second round with an even par, Singh went on to finish the third round with one under par.

Singh scored birdies in 8 and 13 on the last round, scoring a 79 and ended the final round with a total of 297 to emerge victorious.

The Seniors were divided into three categories namely Senior A, Senior B and Senior. Sandeep Sandhu of Chandigarh from Senior A emerged victorious with a total score of 229 after playing three rounds. Sandhu faced tough competition from Gaurav Ghosh of West Bengal who scored 233 and went on to secure the second position. Col. Hemanta Panging of Haryana scored a 235 and secured the third position from Senior A.

Pushpendra Rathore of Rajasthan from Senior B posted a score of 239 to secure a win from his category. Rathore was chased by Lokendra Malik of Gujarat who secured the second position with a total score of 240. He put up a commendable chase by scoring multiple birdies in the final round at 3, 10, 13 and 16. Amit Luthra of Delhi secured the third position with a total score of 243.

Singh was chased by Simarjeet Singh of Uttar Pradesh and Arjun Singh of West Bengal who ended the final round with 302 and 306 respectively claiming the second and the third positions in the Mid Amateur category respectively.

Gangesh Khaitan, Vijay Kumar Bhadana, and Dr. V.A. Bharadwaj from Uttar Pradesh secured the first, second and the third positions with total scores of 235, 244 and 253 respectively.

Combining all the three Senior categories, Sandeep Sandhu, Gaurav Ghosh and Col. Hemanta Panging secured the first, second and third positions respectively.

The IGU All India Amateur and Seniors Championship ended with great golfing moments and display of resilience and skills, which are sure to inspire the golfers of India in the days to come.
