Zara Anand from A Girls, Rashi Mishra from B Girls, Naina Kapoor from C Girls and Eti Chaudhary from Ladies category secured triumph in the IGU Tamil Nadu Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship that concluded on Thursday, October 3 at the Coimbatore Golf Club.

Three rounds of golf was played by the golfers on the par 72 golf course at Coimbatore from October 1. Uttar Pradesh’s Zara Anand from the A Girls category secured a win from her category by playing great golf.

Finishing the inaugural round with a two under 72, she remained consistent on the last two rounds which she ended with the same score. In the final round, Zara ended with a total of six under par, securing victory.

Zara Anand with her total of six under par, also stood victorious from the combined category of A&B Girls, as well as the Ladies category.

Rashi Mishra, representing Goa from the B Girls, managed to putt in great shots in the three rounds. Concluding the first two rounds with a 79 and a 74 respectively, she trailed on the third round, and scored an 81. Securing a total of 234, Rashi went on to become the winner from her category.

Naina Kapoor of C Girls, representing Haryana, displayed great golfing moments. After concluding the first two rounds with an 80, and an 82, Naina’s performance improved in the third round which she ended with a 75. That led her to secure the position of the champion from C Girls with a total of 237.

Teeing off from the whites, Eti Chaudhary from Ladies category, representing Rajasthan, ended the final round with a score of 235. She had a tough start on the first round which she concluded with 79. Picking up her mental strength, Eti scored a 73 on the second round and concluded the ultimate round with a tough score of 83.

Zara Anand was chased by Kaya Daluwatte from Sri Lanka and Saanvi Somu from Karnataka of the category A Girls. Both Kaya and Saanvi scored a total of 224, which led them to secure the second and the third positions respectively. However, Kaya got the lead by playing a more efficient final round.

Kaya and Saanvi have also been able to secure the position of the first and the second runners up respectively, from the combined category of A&B Girls, as well as the Ladies category.

Karnataka’s Dia Chris Kumar and Delhi’s Ayesha Gupta from B Girls were in a hot pursuit of Rashi Mishra and managed to score a 235 and 237 respectively and clinched the positions of the first and the second runners up respectively.

Karnataka’s Aida Thimmaiah and Delhi’s Anushka Gupta from C Girls scored a total of 240 and 242 respectively by putting up a tough competition to Naina Kapoor, in order to secure the second and the third positions respectively.

Great golfing performances were also put up by Eti Chaudhary’s tough competitors, Esther Marie Fernandes Lobo of Gujarat, and Maharashtra’s Ketaki Sood from Ladies category. Scoring a total of 238 and 240 respectively, they secured the first and the second runners up positions.

The IGU Tamil Nadu Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship was a testimony to great golfing spirits, display of mental resilience and camaraderie. Great performance was put up by champion golfers like Mannat Brar, Anvvi Dahhiya, and many others which will set an example for aspiring golfers to play better golf in the days to come.
