After a consistent four rounds play, Angad Cheema secured a win in the Vizag Open 2024 that concluded on October 5.

The Vizag Open that commenced on October 2 in the East Point Golf Club, had more than 60 golfers participating in the stroke play format game.

Angad Cheema had a challenging start on the first round which he ended with a two under par. Opening the first hole with a birdie on the second round, he went on to chip in an eagle at the 7, and several other birdies to end the second round with ten under par.

Angad opened both the third and the fourth rounds with a birdie, followed by birdies at other holes and concluded the penultimate and the ultimate rounds with one under and three under 71 respectively. Angad concluded the final round with a total of sixteen under 284, which tied him with Aman Raj, and he finally emerged victorious through a play off match.

Aman Raj, Angad’s strictest competitor, had a better start than Angad. Aman scored a five under 71 on the first round, and performed efficiently on the second and the third rounds, scoring a three and two under par respectively.

Aman played a much better final round than the champion himself, and scored a six under par in the fourth round that resulted in a play off between him and Angad. As Angad emerged victorious in the play off, Aman with a final score of sixteen under 284, secured the second position.

In close pursuit of Angad and Aman, was Aryan Roopa Anand. Aryan played great golf in the first and the second rounds, scoring four and three under 71 respectively. However, he struggled in the third round ending it with one over, but maintained his form and consistency on the final round scoring a four under and secured the third position with a total of ten under par.

Exemplary performance as well as consistency in game and mental strength was shown by talented golfers like Kartik Sharma (71-69-64-70), who tied at the third position with Aryan, Udayan Mane (70-69-66-70), who tied at the fifth position with Jairaj Singh Sandhu and two other golfers, Yuvraj Singh (69-72-69-66), Shaurya Bhattacharya (70-70-69-69), Shaurya Binu, Veer Ahlawat, Pukhraj Singh Gill, and Sri Lankan golfer N.
