Krish Chawla made a flying start securing a leading score of four-under 66 at the IGU West Bengal Junior Boys Golf Championship, which is being hosted at the Tollygunge Club, Kolkata from November 18 to November 22.
Sinking five birdies on the first round, Chawla is leading combined category A&B Boys with an impressive score. Krish is currently leading the tournament by four strokes after round one.
Chawla said, “My putts were good today, and my long irons were pretty good as well. I am happy to have kept my momentum on the first round”.
Kartik Singh came up with a one-under 69, the second leading score of the day from A&B Boys. This score placed him at the leading position from B Boys as well.
With a level par score, Ranveer Mitroo, Gurnavjeet Singh Bhatia and Anshul Mitra posted the third leading score from A&B Boys.
Angad Singh, Harman Sachdeva, Armaan Tekriwal, Arghya Shah, Sohang Har Kantor, Varish Mohta, and many others also had a great first round.
Chawla said, “I want to play good golf for the rest of the week. The putting greens were pretty true, so, it is important for me to keep up the momentum. This is making me a bit nervous but other than that, I am having fun”.
All eyes are set on the second round of the IGU West Bengal Junior Boys Golf Championship, that is going to be conducted tomorrow, on 20 November, at Tollygunge Club.
