England’s Laurie Canter won the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship after a tense three-player playoff. Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal was leading by one shot as he reached the final hole of the tournament. However, he three-putted from 41 feet, making a bogey that dropped him into a playoff with Canter and fellow Englishman Dan Brown. On the first extra hole, Larrazabal hit his tee shot into the water, making it difficult for him to win. Canter took advantage with a perfect drive and a great approach shot that left him just four feet from the hole. He sank his birdie putt to claim victory. Brown struggled in the playoff, finding two bunkers, and was not in contention. This is Canter’s second DP World Tour title, while Larrazabal missed out on what could have been his 10th tour win.
