The final event of the AVT Champions Tour 2024-25 teed off at Jaypee Greens Golf Course with 110 golfers, and after an exciting first round, the competition is heating up! With just one round to go, the battle for the event title—and the prestigious Golfer of the Year award—is closer than ever.

In the overall gross category, Parthive Sanghrajka set the pace with an impressive 74, taking a narrow one-shot lead. Right behind him, HS Kang, Kim Sanggun, and Sandeep Sandhu are all tied at 75, ensuring a thrilling showdown in the final round. With such a close race at the top, the final day promises high-stakes drama.

The competition is fierce across all age categories. In Category A (50-54), Parthive Sanghrajka leads with 74, with HS Kang just behind at 75. Category B (55-59) sees Kim Sanggun in the lead with 75, followed closely by Jaideep Singh (76). In Category C (60-64), Sandeep Sandhu is ahead with 75, while Hyun Ju Kim (78) is chasing him. Anil Jule (83) leads Category D (65-69) with Dhananjay Date (84) right on his heels. In Category E (70 and above), Dr. Kashmir Singh (82) holds the top spot, followed by Vijay Kumar (84).

In the ladies’ gross category, the battle is incredibly tight, with Paromita Mukherjee and Sanjoli Singh both tied at 88. With just one round to go, it’s anyone’s game, and the final day will determine who takes home the title.

The nett categories also saw some standout performances. In the 0-9 handicap category, Kim Sanggun dominated with 70, just ahead of Sandeep Chaudhary (71). The 10-18 handicap category is led by Azad Singh Ruhail (70), with Chander Sharma (72) in pursuit. In the Ladies Nett division, Malini Joshi (73) holds the lead over Jayanthi Ravi (79).

The team event is shaping up to be a real nail-biter. The team of Padamjit Sandhu, Sandeep Sandhu, Jaspreet Bakshi, and HS Kang leads in both the gross (229) and nett (220) categories. However, the team of Ankur Prakash, Kim Sanggun , Manav Prakash, and Ashish Kapoor is close behind with 234 (gross) and 221 (nett). With just one round left, the battle for the top spot remains wide open.

As the players prepare for the final round, all eyes are on the course. The tournament not only determines the Noida event champion but also crowns the Golfer of the Year. Last year’s winner, Sandeep Sandhu, is still in the mix, but can he defend his title? With such a tight leaderboard, anything can happen.
