Round 3 of the LPGA Chevron Championship 2025 drew in the leaderboard, making for a nail-biting final day.
South Korea’s Haeran Ryu and Japan’s Mao Saigo are now tied at -9. Ryu recovered from an inconsistent second round with a consistent 68, while Saigo remained steady with a 69 to share the lead.
Lindy Duncan is alone in third at -8 after playing a good 70, remaining in striking distance.
Sarah Schmelzel and Yan Liu are tied at -7. Each of them played gritty rounds—Schmelzel a 71 and Liu a 72—remaining very much in the hunt but in need of something special on Sunday.
A group of heavy-hitters wait in the wings at -6, such as Lexi Thompson, Ruoning Yin, Carlota Ciganda, Ariya Jutanugarn, and Hye-Jin Choi. All of them recorded a 70 or a 71 in Round 3, keeping pressure on the leaders without making any significant moves.
Lower down, Auston Kim is at -5 after a solid 71, requiring a low last round to get into the mix.
With the top 13 players only four shots apart, Sunday is going to be serious drama.
Ryu and Saigo are in the ascendancy, but with so many established names within striking range, no margin is secure.
