Bengal golfers shine in the IGU All India Mid Amateur and Senior Championship 2025, which is being held at the Classic Golf and Country Club, from July 22 to July 25.
West Bengal golfer Ranjit Singh shot his personal best of 7-under 65 in the third round, after a 74 and a 3-under 69 in the first and second rounds respectively. At a three-day score of 8-under 208, Singh made his move on the moving day and currently leads the Mid Amateur category.
Singh is chased by Haryana golfer Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar (72-73-72), who maintained consistency of performance even in the third round, and at a three-day score of 1-over 217, lay second, followed by Bengal golfer Arjun Singh (78-69-71), who lay third at a three-day score of 2-over 218.
Meanwhile, the Seniors, divided into three age categories, namely, Seniors A (55-59 years), Seniors B (60-64 years), and Seniors C (65 years and above) played their second round today, on July 23.

Bengal golfer Gaurav Ghosh (70-75) leads the Seniors A category (55-59 years) at a two-day score of 1-over 145. Karnataka golfer David D’ Souza (74-73), and overnight co-leader Arunachal Pradesh’s Col. Hemanta Panging (70-80), lay second and third at two-day scores of 147 and 150 respectively.
In the Seniors B category (60-64 years), Punjab’s Col. Kuldeep Singh Sandhu (72-73) leads at a two-day score of 1-over 145, followed by Rajasthan’s Pushpendra Rathore (72-78), and Chandigarh’s Sandeep Sandhu (78-73), who lay second and third, at two-day scores of 150 and 151 respectively.
Uttar Pradesh golfer Vijay Kumar (75-74) and Haryana golfer Amardeep Singh Bajwa (75-78) jointly lead the Senior C category at a two-day total of 153. Haryana’s Navneet Singh (80-74) lay third at a two-day score of 154, followed by Delhi’s Gangesh Khaitan (76-79), and Maharashtra’s Dhananjay N. Date (76-79), who jointly lay fourth at a two-day score of 155.
In the Seniors A, Seniors B and Seniors C Combined category, Gaurav Ghosh and Col. Kuldeep Singh Sandhu jointly lead with a two-day score of 145, followed by David D’ Souza and Rajasthan’s Pushpendra Rathore, who lay third and fourth at two-day scores of 147 and 150 respectively.
