In a sport that relies on quietness, concentration, and following the rules, 19-year-old Krishaa is making a positive impact. As the youngest person in India to earn the Level 3 TARS referee certification, she combines her youthful enthusiasm with the serious responsibilities of judging high-level matches.

Krishaa got started in golf much like many others: out of curiosity. “There was something special about golf, the accuracy, the peacefulness, and the mental focus really appealed to me,” she remembers. While other sports might have more excitement, golf attracted her with its quiet nature and need for patience. She didn’t just play the game; she became really interested in learning all about it. “Eventually, I wanted to know more than just playing; I wanted to understand the game’s rules,” she states.

That understanding has now helped her achieve one of the highest honours in the sport. Passing the Level 3 TARS exam at just 19 is something not many can say, especially no one else in India her age. “It feels amazing,” she says with a calmness and humility that she is known for. “It’s not only about knowing the Rule book; it’s about using it wisely, calmly, and carefully, especially when things get intense. ”

She indeed faces intense situations regularly now. As a frequent referee at IGU Tour events, Krishaa oversees some of the top golfers in the country. “These players really know their stuff, so every choice I make is closely watched,” she explains. Still, she excels in this demanding atmosphere. “Keeping control isn’t about being aggressive; it’s about staying calm, respectful, and straightforward. ”

Her dreams go beyond just the golf course and the rules. “I want to represent India on an international level as a certified Rules Official,” she shares. But even more importantly, she wants to help by making rules training easier for younger golfers and caddies, many of whom haven’t had much access to formal golf lessons. “I aim to create a more welcoming and fair golf scene. ”

Mr. Shyam Sunder, the Director of Technical, Rules & Amateur Status at the Indian Golf Union, first saw her at a Level 2 TARS school in Bangalore. “She seemed pretty nervous,” he remembers. “But what stood out was how focused she was in both the theory and practical classes. ” Fast forward to TARS 2025, he continues, “She had transformed into a confident Krishaa, now an experienced referee who regularly officiates at IGU Tours. For someone who is just 19, passing the Level 3 exams and managing the best golfers in the country is a significant achievement. ”

In a sport where everyone aims to do their best with each hit, it’s not common to see someone on the other side who remains steady, honest, and composed. Krishaa might be young, but in the field of golf refereeing, she is already acting like someone with a lot of experience.
