The seventh leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour – the Kolkata Masters 2025 began on August 6 at the prestigious Tollygunge Club, Kolkata.
Despite the rainy weather and soaked course condition, over 34 amateur, mid-amateur, senior, super senior and ladies golfers teed off on the first round.
Ribhav Verma shot a 1-under 68 in the first round, and currently leads the Amateur category. Saquib Hussain and Ramayush Ray shot a 1-over 70, and lay jointly tied second, followed by Rohan Jaiswara, who lay fourth in the Amateur category, at a 74.
With a score of 88, G. Suresh Sharma leads the Mid-Amateur category, followed by Benjamin Konop, who lay second in the Mid-Amateur category at a one-day score of 93.
In the Senior category, Col. Shreekant Tiwari shot a 1-over 70, and currently leads his category.
Captain Rana Chatterji shot a 79, and currently leads the Super Senior category. Incidentally, Capt. Chatterji also lay second in the Senior category.
Ravindra Singhania followed Capt. Chatterji, and at a score of 110, lay second in the Super Senior category.
Meanwhile, Anwesha Das leads the Ladies category, at a score of 76.
This is a WAGR ranked event. The dates for the WAGR ranked event are from August 6 to August 8.
