The second round of the Tolly Captain versus President’s Cup finished off nicely at Tollygunge Club, with the last day’s matches bringing exciting challenges and lots of action.

Vice President’s Snead Strikers won the Challenge Plate, beating the Vice Captain’s Nicklaus Knights. And In the Challenge Trophy, the Captain’s Woods Warriors took the win, while the President’s Palmer Pioneers ended up in second place.

The day also highlighted some great individual achievements:

Best Gross Seniors: Mr. A. K. Sareen from VC’s Nicklaus Knights scored 30 points.

Best Nett Seniors: Mr. Virendra Sinha from VC’s Nicklaus Knights achieved 42 points.

Best Gross Ladies: Ms. Sana Hussain from President’s Snead Strikers scored 30 points.

Best Nett Ladies: Ms. Ananya Parakkal from VP’s Nicklaus Knights had 37 points.

Best Nett (0–13 Handicap): Mr. Deep Banerjee from President’s Snead Strikers got 42 points.

Best Nett 14–24 Handicap: Mr. Rohan Karnani from Captain’s Woods Warriors scored 45 points.

Best Gross Overall: Mr. Anant Bajoria from VC’s Nicklaus Knights, Anchor scored 32 points.

With more than 150 golfers joining in over two days, this year’s event once again showed the great combination of competition and friendship that makes the Captain vs President’s Cup one of the most exciting happenings at Tolly.

The Club President Mr. Partha Sarathi Barman said,” as a club we have to constantly think of innovative tournaments and how to involve more and more members here, so with that thought we started this tournament which has now come to it’s 2nd edition, we got all Tollygunge Club golfers coming together and all of us will have a friendship, and bonding and bondhomie, so that the club thrives, everybody enjoys and play golf.”

Golf captain Mr. H.S. Bindra said, “Being the captain, of course, it’s an honor to receive this trophy. I think any team could have won today because all the teams were evenly matched. Yesterday, all teams were nervous about who’s coming first, second, third, and fourth because it was so competitive. But it was great fun, and it was a great event, and I’m sure we’ll do it again”.

Vice Captain Hitesh Gurtu, added ” A lot goes on for a event like this behind the scenes, it takes a lot of time, energy and initiative from the committee members to determine the structure of the tournament,the giveaways, the trophies .etc , so a lot of hardwork goes in and kudosto the team that stays behind the scenes and does all this meticulously.”

Vice President’s Anchor Eshaan Phadnis said, “one of the biggest challenges in this tournament was picking the right team, having the right combination, and I think after winning the challenge Trophy has paid off, and like team dynamics, choosing the right groupings , who’s playing with whom, in the tournament,and claiming victory for the VC’S team, so I think all the planning we did , all the challenges we faced over the last few days paid off today.”
