Aranyak Chakraborty wins the Protouch Amateur Open 2026 – the first leg of the IGU east Zone Amateur Feeder Tour, which was hosted at the prestigious Tollygunge Club, from April 8 to April 9.
Aranyak Chakraborty shot a 1-over 71 in the second round, following a 77 in the opening round, and at a total score of 148, won the Amateur category.
In fact, Aranyak also competed and won the A&B Boys and B Boys categories in the Protouch Junior Open 2026 – the first leg of the IGU East Zone Junior Feeder Tour.
Arkaprovo Choudhury (81-73) also played a better second round in which he shot a 3-over 73, and at an overall score of 154, finished second in the Amateur category, and was also placed second in the A&B Boys as well as B Boys categories in the Protouch Junior Open 2026.
Lakshya Rampuria (80-80) and Abdul Hossain Sardar (78-82) finished tied third jointly in the Amateur category at an overall score of 160.
Raja Babu Ali (81-81) won the Mid-Amateur category at an overall score of 162, followed by Praveen Agarwal (93-88) and Jayanta Banerjee (96-94), who finished second and third at overall scores of 181 and 190 respectively.
Col. Shreekant Tiwari (77-76) had a better second round and at an overall score of 153 won the Senior category. Abhijit Kolay (86-78) and Captain Rana Chatterji (82-88) finished second and third with overall scores of 164 and 170 respectively.
Captain Rana Chatterji also won the Super Senior category, followed by Dr. Ashish Kumar (92-91) and JL Roy, who finished second and third with overall scores of 183 and 207 respectively.
The Protouch Amateur Open 2026 is an WAGR ranking event, and the WAGR round is going to be held on Friday, April 10.
