India’s young golfers Ceerat Kang and Guntas Kaur Sandhu continued to hold their ground at the prestigious Malaysia Ladies Amateur Open, staying inside the top ten after the second round at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.

India currently sits third in the team championship with a combined score of four-over 292, trailing leaders Malaysia by just four strokes.

Individual Performances

Ceerat Kang from Panchkula produced a composed round of one-under 71, lifting her overall tally to one-over 145. Her effort places her sixth on the leaderboard after Day 2.

Guntas Kaur Sandhu from Chandigarh carded a two-over 74, finishing in a tie for seventh position.

Malaysia’s Amberly Zaira Binti Zamra surged ahead with a sparkling five-under 67, moving to two-under 142 and claiming the outright lead.

In the second round, 19 year old Ceerat opened strongly with three birdies on her front nine. Despite late bogeys on the 16th and 18th, she maintained momentum to stay well within contention.

Guntas, just 15, showcased her trademark resilience. Her round featured three birdies and two bogeys on the front nine, followed by one birdie and two bogeys on the back nine, closing at two-over 74.
