Day 1 of the Mahitosh Ray Memorial Amateur Open 2026 at Tollygunge Club was a shortened round, as heavy rain held up play for several hours and prevented participants from completing 18 holes.

In the Amateur Category, played over 9 holes, Saquib Hussain leads, with Biswakrit Ghosh close behind in second. Arkoprovo Chaudhury and Andrew Baid finished the day tied for third.

In the Mid Amateur Category, also played over 9 holes, Lt. Col. Bhupesh S. Chuphal leads, with Mahadeb Roy finishing second.

In the Super Senior Category, played over 8 holes, Sumit Sen leads.
