The ElectroSteel Tolly Members’ Skills Competition 2025 was held at the prestigious Tollygunge Club, for the members of the Club on July 26, Saturday.
For the Skills Competition, the Tolly members were divided into 8 teams, each team consisting of 6 players, that included at least one senior, junior and ladies participants. The seedings for the day’s draw were based on the total handicaps of each team.
A total number of five skills were played, namely:
1. Chipping in the Circle
2. Chip through the Ring
3. Basket Chip
4. Basket Chip (Advanced)
5. Putting (Nearest to the Hole)
All the matches were Five-holes match play for the Knockout Round in which eight teams, led by their captains faced off each other.
1. Team 2, the Birdie Boys, led by Deep Banerjee, played against Team 4, Chips and Putts, led by Gautam Jhangiani. Team 2, the Birdie Boys won over Chips and Putts.
2. Team 8, the Par-Tee Chics, led by Oona Khanna, qualified directly for the Semi Finals, as Team 3 walked over before the day started.
3. Team 7, the Tolly Tigers, led by Gautam Malik, played against Team 6, Beer on Sundays, led by Debashis Sur. Team 7, the Tolly Tigers, won over Beer on Sundays.
4. Team 1, Shank Sinatra, led by Anant Bajoria, played against Team 5, the Golfing Friends, led by Satish Kapur. Team 1, Shank Sinatra won over the Golfing Friends.
Four teams qualified for the Semi Finals. The Birdie Boys played against the Par-Tee Chics. Tolly Tigers played against Shank Sinatra in the semi-finals. Ultimately, over the two rounds of semi-finals, the Birdie Boys and the Shank Sinatra qualified in the finals, winning against their opponents by 1 and 3 points respectively.

Runners Up: Team Shank Sinatra

The Birdie Boys and Shank Sinatra faced off for the final round. Ultimately, the Birdie Boys, comprising of Mayukh Ray, Deep Banerjee, Rudraksha Banerjee, Saugata Banerjee, Deepak Verma and Armaan Bhoopal, won against Shank Sinatra, comprising of Ashwani Sareen, Aashera Sethi, Ved Somaiya, Shubhojit Nag, Akash Tantia, and Anant Bajoria, by 1 point.
Mr. Hitesh Gurtu, Vice-Captain of Tollygunge Club, and Mr. Harmander Singh Bindra, Golf Captain, Tollygunge Club, adorned the prize distribution ceremony and felicitated the winners and the runners up.
Mr. Hitesh Gurtu, Tollygunge Club, said, “All the participants played really well. Their performances have set the standards of Tolly Golf high. I am sure that all the participants had an excellent time today.”.

The ElectroSteel came up as the main sponsor of the event from its inception. Incidentally, this tournament is a part of the Electrosteel Golf Skills Series. Protouch exclusively organized and managed the tournament.
