Vihaan Jain wins the IGU Andhra Pradesh State Junior Boys Golf Championship 2026, which was being held at the prestigious East Point Golf Club (EPGC), Vishakhapatnam, from May 12 to May 15.

Vihaan Jain: Winner, A&B Boys Combined category
Delhi’s Vihaan Jain (67-74-73-70), who started off as the overnight leader in the first round with an impressive 5-under 67, had difficult second and third rounds, in which he shot a 74 and 73 respectively. In the fourth round, he improved his performance shooting a 2-under 70, and at an overall score of 4-under 284, won the A&B Boys Combined category.
Overnight leader after the second and third rounds, Haryana’s Arjun Dahiya (70-70-73-74) had difficult third and fourth rounds in which he shot a 73 and 74 respectively, after shooting straight 2-under 70 in the first and second rounds respectively. At an overall score of 1-under 287, Arjun finished second in the A&B Boys Combined category.
Karnataka’s Ishnidh Virdhi (70-71-75-74) had difficult third and fourth rounds in which he shot a 75 and 74 respectively after a 2-under 70 and 1-under 71 in the first and second rounds respectively. At an overall score of 290, Ishnidh finished third in the A&B Boys Combined category.
Haryana’s Shaurya Dagar (74-76-74-68) started off with difficulty at scores of 74, 76 and 76 respectively. In the fourth round, he shot a 4-under 68 and at an overall score of 292, finished tied fourth with Maharashtra’s Shashank Sachin Gadre (72-74-73-73) and Delhi’s Chaitanya Pandey (72-70-74-76).

Chaitanya Pandey: Winner, B Boys
Delhi’s Chaitanya Pandey also made podium finish in category B Boys, followed by Delhi’s Aditya Misra (75-78-76-73), who finished second in category B Boys at an overall score of 302.
Karnataka’s Aditya Tewari (79-77-75-72) shot an even par score of 72 in the final round, his personal best in the tournament, and at an overall score of 303, finished tied third in category B Boys with Telangana’s Saatvic Kumar Singh (78-77-75-73).
Meanwhile, the participants of category C Boys, who played a total of 54 holes over three consecutive rounds, finished their third and final round, yesterday, on May 14.

Drona Singh Dhull, Shan Alvi and Sohraab Singh Talwar:
Winner, Runner Up and Second Runner Up, C Boys
Haryana golfer Drona Singh Dhull (76-76-71) played a great third round in which he shot a 1-under 71, and at a total score of 223, tied for podium finish with overnight leader over two consecutive rounds, Delhi’s Shan Alvi (74-75-74). Following an exciting play-off, Drona won category C Boys, while Shan finished second.
At an overall score of 238, Punjab’s Sohraab Singh Talwar (84-78-76) finished third in Category C Boys.
