Team India, comprising of golfers Sandeep Sandhu, David Jerome Michael D’Souza, Gaurav Ghosh and Amandeep Singh Bajwa, shines in the APGC Senior Amateur Golf Championship 2025, hosted at the Orchard Golf and Country Club, Manila, Philippines, from September 24 to September 26.
Despite inclement weather disruptions that occurred at Orchard Golf and Country Club during the tournament, team India recorded its first podium finish over two thrilling rounds. Team India scored a total of 226 after the first round, and played a better second round in which the cumulative team score was 223. Finally, team India finished third with a total of 449, with team Australia winning the APGC Senior Amateur Golf Championship 2025 with a total score of 432, and team Republic of Korea, finishing second at a total score of 439.
Apart from Sandeep Singh Sandhu, David Jerome Michael D’Souza, Gaurav Ghosh, and Amandeep Singh Bajwa, seasoned senior golfers such as CS Sandy Grewal, Gangesh Khaitan, Jaideep Singh, and Lakshman Singh took part in the APGC Senior Amateur Golf Championship 2025, competing in the Men’s Individual category.

Sandeep Singh Sandhu: Winner, Men’s Individual Overall Category. 

Among the Indian players, Sandeep Singh Sandhu (70-70) played a total of 4-under 140 over the two rounds, and won the Men’s Individual Overall category. Sandhu shared his win with Jibaek Heo (67-73) from South Korea
David Jerome Michael D’Souza (79-72) finished tied fifteenth with South Korea’s Yang Kwon Kim (70-72) at an overall score of 151 in the Men’s Individual Overall Category.
While Bengal golfer Gaurav Ghosh (77-81) shot an overall score of 158 to finish tied twenty eighth with Manfred Guangko (83-75) in the Men’s Individual Overall Category, Gangesh Khaitan (82-78) finished tied thirtieth with Roy Hollick (80-80) at an overall score of 160.
Sandeep Singh Sandhu also topped the Men’s Age 60-64 years category, Gangesh Khaitan topped the 70 years and above age category, followed by Lakshman Singh finished second.
The APGC Senior Amateur Golf Championship continues to be Asia-Pacific’s premiere team and individual championship for senior male and ladies golfers. It is a prestigious tournament that provides an exemption into the R&A Senior Amateur Championship.
