The 21st Interschool Golf Championship 2025, which began on October 21 at the Tollygunge Club, concluded on October 23 with a grand closing ceremony. This prestigious event witnessed participation from over 150 budding golfers representing schools from across the country, all competing to bring pride and trophies to their institutions.

Now in its 21st year, the championship has grown into one of India’s most awaited junior golf tournaments. Over two decades, it has provided young golfers with a platform to compete, learn, and celebrate the spirit of the game.

The tournament consisted of two rounds — the first round played in a Scramble format and the final round in a Two Ball Better Ball format.

Participants were divided into six categories:

Over 13 Girls

Varish Mohta and Lakshya Agarwal

Over 13 Overall Category
In a thrilling finish, Varish Mohta and Lakshya Agarwal (67-71) from Calcutta International School won the Over 13 Overall category with a total score of 2-under 138. The victory came down to the final hole, where Lakshya chipped in for a birdie to take a one-stroke lead and secure the title.
Andrew Baid and Arghya Shah (64-75) from La Martiniere for Boys finished a close second with 1-under 139, while Shaurya Bhatnagar and Manan Bagrecha (70-72), also from La Martiniere for Boys, finished third with 142.

Anaahat Bindra

Over 13 Girls Category
Anaahat Bindra (76-76) from La Martiniere for Girls won the Over 13 Girls category with a total score of 152, defending her title.
Julinka Roy Chowdhury (81-78) from Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir secured second place with 159, while Ishika Bansal and Adhvita Dhelia (82-84) finished third with 166.

Under 13 Overall Category
Arkaprovo Chaudhary (76-75) from The Newtown School claimed the Under 13 Overall title with a total score of 151. He was also awarded the Most Improved Player (Boys) trophy for his outstanding progress.
Armaan Bhoopal and Samarth Agarwal (71-82) from La Martiniere for Boys finished second with 159, while Hrian Khem and Akshansh Modi (74-82) from La Martiniere for Boys took third with 160.

Ahana Khaitan and Aarya Jhunjhunwala 

Under 13 Girls Category
Ahana Khaitan and Aarya Jhunjhunwala (86-87) from RP Goenka International School won the Under 13 Girls category with a total of 173.
Aarya also received the Most Improved Player (Girls) trophy.
Vaasvi Himatsingka and Vaanya Rustagi (84-90) from Modern High School International finished second with 174, while Medhaavi Kaul and Ananya Kundalia (96-93) from Calcutta International School secured third with 189.

Advika Agarwal and Aaira Khaitan

Under 9 Overall Category
In the Under 9 Overall category (a 9-hole event), Advika Agarwal and Aaira Khaitan (35-40) from RP Goenka International School took home the top prize with a total of 75. They have been the only Girls team in the history to win the Overall category award for the Under 9 category.
Noa Alma Munshi and Moksh Lakhotia (38-41) from Calcutta International School finished second with 79, and Lavit Dhanuka and Aveer Malik (40-42) from La Martiniere for Boys secured third with 82.

Lavit Dhanuka was also awarded the Youngest Player (Boys) trophy at just 7 years and 3 months.

Under 9 Girls Category
In the Under 9 Girls category, Advika Agarwal and Aaira Khaitan from RP Goenka International School once again emerged victorious with a total of 75.
Anishka Agarwal and Viyaana Parakh (47-53) from RP Goenka International School finished second with 100, while Ruhi Nayar (51-50) from La Martiniere for Girls secured third with 101.

Anishka Agarwal also received the Youngest Player (Girls) trophy at 6 years and 10 months.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests —
Mrs. Sreeranjani Joshi, Director of George Group of Colleges;
Mr. Anil Bhargava, President of the Bengal Golf Association;
Brigadier V. Ganapathi, CEO of Tollygunge Club;
Mr. Rajesh Goenka, Chairman & Director of NG Industries; and
Mrs. Mukherjee, mother of Late Adarsh Mukherjee —
who presented the trophies to the winners.

Varish Mohta was awarded the Adarsh Mukherjee Memorial Trophy by Mrs. Mukherjee, an honour given to the Best Player of Protouch Academy for the year.

Inter School Golf Skills Championship for NGO Schools
As part of the championship, an Inter-School Golf Skills Championship was also held for students from various NGO schools that are under the Champion for Life Project, in association with the Bengal Golf Association.
This project introduces underprivileged students to golf through regular training sessions at their schools. Participants learn the basics of the short game under professional coaches, and the top performers were selected to compete at the Interschool Skills Championship held alongside the main event.

Students of Baghbazar Sarada Prathamik Vidyalaya

In this event, Baghbazar Sarada Prathamik Vidyalaya emerged as the Champion School, followed by Basha (Heart and Rehabilitation Centre) in second place, and Ek Prayaas Education Society in third.
Supported by NG Industries, the Champion for Life Project provides golf lessons, nutrition, and educational support to over 500 children, helping them build confidence and essential life skills through the sport.

A Legacy of Sportsmanship and Growth
The Interschool Golf Championship continues to be the largest junior golf tournament in India, bringing together over 150 players from over 20 schools each year. The event encourages teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship among young golfers, creating memories that last a lifetime.

The 21st Inter School Golf Championship was supported by Title Sponsor George Protouch School of Sports, with Balaji Ads, Bisleri, and Keventers as associate sponsors, and Breathe.Golf as the official media partner.
The event has been a trademark event, which is run and managed by Protouch Sports, maintaining its reputation as a landmark event in junior golf.
