David D’ Souza clinches victory at the IGU Mid Amateurs and Seniors Championship 2026, which was being held from April 14 to April 16, at the Zion Hills Golf County, Bangalore.
This prestigious tournament saw the participation of over 45 seasoned Mid-Amateur and Senior golfers over three competitive rounds of golf. The senior golfers playing the Championship, were divided into three different age categories, namely:
a. Senior A category (55-59 years)
b. Senior B category (60-64 years)
c. Senior C category (65 years and above)
Seasoned Karnataka golfer David D’Souza (74-74-72) maintained consistency over the first two rounds, and shot an even par score of 72, playing a better third round. At an overall score of 4-over 220, D’ Souza clinched victory in the Overall Senior Categories A, B and C combined.
D’ Souza also topped Senior B category (60-64 years).

Gaurav Ghosh: Winner, Senior A Category (50-59 years)
Seasoned player from Bengal, Gaurav Ghosh (82-77-76) had a difficult start but played better second and third rounds, shooting 77 and 76 respectively. At an overall score of 235, Ghosh finished second in the Overall Senior Categories A, B and C combined.
Ghosh also topped Senior A category (50-59 years).
Chandigarh’s Sandeep Singh Sandhu (74-81-81) finished third in the Overall Senior Categories A, B and C combined and second in Senior B category (60-64 years) with an overall score of 236.

Raj Randhawa: Winner, Mid Amateur Category
Maharashtra golfer Raj Randhawa (72-71-75) started off with an even par score but played a better second round, shooting a 1-under 71. Though he played a difficult third round in which he shot a 75, Randhawa managed to win the Mid-Amateur category with an overall score of 223.
Bihar golfer Ramun Singh (75-77-77) finished second at an overall score of 229.
Jharkhand’s Navtez Singh (77-78-75) finished third at an overall score of 230.
West Bengal golfer Avinash Deoskar (81-87-83) lay tied seventh with a group of golfers including Maharashtra’s Sushant Khosla (78-92-81) and Tamil Nadu’s Gaurav Syal (80-82-89), finishing with an overall score of 251.
Meanwhile in the Senior A category (50-59 years), Arunachal Pradesh’s Hemant Panging (81-80-82) and Maharashtra’s Ajit V. Ingole (85-82-82) finished second and third, following Bengal’s Gaurav Ghosh, at overall scores of 243 and 249.
Punjab golfer Darvesh Kumar (77-84-83) finished third in Senior B category (60-64 years) at an overall score of 244.

Gangesh Khaitan: Winner, Senior C Category (65 years and above)
Seasoned senior golfer Gangesh Khaitan (78-91-78) topped the Senior C category (65 years and above) with an overall score of 247.
Karnataka’s P. Prasad Reddy (84-88-86) and Telangana’s S. J Ghosh (90-85-89) finished second and third respectively in the Senior C category (65 years and above) with overall scores of 258 and 264 respectively.
