Lieutenant Colonel Varoon Parmar and David D’ Souza clinch victory in their respective categories at the IGU All India Mid Amateurs and Seniors Golf Championship 2026, which was being held at the Jaypee Greens Wishtown, Noida, from May 12 to May 14.
Haryana’s Lieutenant Colonel Varoon Parmar (71-74-73) and Bihar’s Ramun Singh (76-73-69) tied for podium finish after the third round at an overall score of 218.

Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar: Winner, Mid Amateur Category
On the second play off hole, Lieutenant Colonel Parmar won to clinch victory in the Mid-Amateur Category.
Singh finished second in the Mid-Amateur category at an overall score of 218.
Uttar Pradesh’s Simarjeet Singh (77-73-73) played better second and third rounds, in which he shot 73 on consecutive rounds. At an overall score of 223, Simarjeet Singh finished third in the Mid Amateur category.

David D’ Souza: Winner, Combined Senior A, B & C Category and Senior B Category (60-64 years)
Seasoned golfer Karnataka’s David D’ Souza (74-73-71) played a better third round in which he shot an even par score of 71, and at an overall score of 218, won the Senior A, B & C Combined category as well as Category B Seniors (60-64 years).
Seasoned golfer Chandigarh’s Sandeep Sandhu (77-73-74) finished second in the Senior A, B & C Combined category, as well as Category B Seniors (60-64 years) following D’ Souza, at an overall score of 224.

Ashish Kapoor: Winner, Category A Senior (55-59 years)
Uttar Pradesh’s Ashish Kapoor (71-73-81) had a difficult third round in which he shot an 81, and at an overall score of 225, finished third in the Senior A, B & C Combined category, and won Category A Seniors (55-59 years).
Following Ashish Kumar in the Category A Seniors (55-59 years), Col. Hemant Panging (78-78-73) played a better third round, shooting a 73, and at an overall score of 229, finished second.
Bengal’s seasoned player Gaurav Ghosh (76-78-76) finished third in the Category A Seniors (55-59 years) at an overall score of 230.
Chandigarh’s Bhupinder Singh Mundh (75-74-78) finished third in Category B Seniors (60-64 years) at an overall score of 227.

Gangesh Khaitan: Winner, Category C Seniors (65 years and above)
Delhi’s seasoned player Gangesh Khaitan (75-77-75) topped the Category C Seniors (65 years and above) at an overall score of 227.
Khaitan was followed by New Delhi’s Amit Luthra (74-75-79), who finished second in Category C Seniors (65 years and above) at an overall score of 228.
Uttar Pradesh’s Vijay Kumar (77-83-83) finished third at an overall score of 243 in the Category C Seniors (65 years and above).
