El Jadida, Mazagan, Morocco: The am Green IGPL Tour arrives in North Africa this week after a series of highly engaging events elsewhere in the continent. The fourth in the series of events on the 2026 international schedule of the second season of the am Green IGPL, will see substantial participation of Indian golfers in the inaugural am Green IGPL Morocco Rising Stars.
The event scheduled from May 28-31 will be played over four days and 72 holes and the event carries a prize purse of $ 160,000. The event is co-sanctioned by the IGPL and the ADT.
Morocco is set for a three-week golfing fiesta as the am Green IGPL Morocco Rising Stars from May 28-31, will be followed by next week’s am green IGPL Bharath Classic from June 4-7 at the same course.
The third and final event in Morocco will be the $ 2m International Series Morocco presented by Visit Morocco to be held from June 11-14.
All three events will see a lot of Indians in action as the event brings the exciting North African swing to a conclusion in three weeks.
Three of the four winners from the am Green IGPL Tour and each of the four winners on the ADT this season, are in the field, making it an extremely strong field. Nine of the Top-10 in the ADT Order of Merit have confirmed participation.
This is the first time the IGPL is being played in Morocco and the event is also part of the Asian Development Tour (ADT), which is the Asian Tour’s feeder circuit for the region’s promising talent. The event will showcase the next generation of stars from the two Tours.
Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of am Green IGPL, said, “This is a very exciting phase of the am Green IGPL. We had successful outings in Mauritius, South Africa and Congo and now a co-sanctioned event in Morocco. It opens a whole new world for our golfers and Pukhraj Gill’s recent success in Malaysia and Manav Shah’s qualification for US Open shows that our golfers are benefitting from international exposure and stronger competition.”
“Morocco is a great golfing destination and I am sure our players will enjoy the place and the golf courses and benefit from it.”
The field is led by Pukhraj Singh Gill, winner of the 2025 am Green IGPL Order of Merit, who also won the last event on the ADT in Malaysia. Joining him in the field is Karandeep Kochhar, who like Gill shuffles between the ADT and the Asian Tour, while also playing on the am Green IGPL schedule. Kochhar won the ADT event in Egypt last year.
India’s Sachin Baisoya, IGPL’s number one ranked played, is being joined by a star-studded field that includes his countrymen Veer Ganapathy and Aman Raj, ranked third and fifth respectively. Pukhraj Gill, last year’s No. 1, is in sixth position.
The 18-hole world-class course, the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, in El Jadida City, on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, was designed by nine-time Major champion, Gary Player.
The course offers some stunning views and as the players say, it offers the ultimate game with a view at one of the longest courses in Morocco.
The ADT made a successful debut in Morocco last year with back-to-back Morocco Rising Stars events, which were won by Filipino cousins Aidric Chan and Carl Jano Corpus and both players are back this week.
Other top Indian stars in the field will be Shaurya Bhattacharya, two-time Asian Tour winner, Rashid Khan, Shubham Jaglan, Kartik Singh and a former Asian Tour winner, Khalin Joshi.
The am Green IGPL Morocco Rising Stars, which is the fifth event on the 2026 ADT schedule, is also the fifth event on am Green IGPL Tour.
The Am Green IGPL in 2026 has already seen action in Chandigarh, Mauritius, Johannesburg and Congo. After Morocco, the Tour will travel back to India for most of its remaining events. The event also sees a team component for the am Green IGPL Tour.
