Indian golfer Pranavi Sharath Urs created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual gold medal in golf at the Asian Games. The 23-year-old from Mysuru finished at 15-under-par 265, holding off a strong challenge to secure the title by a single stroke after a composed final-round performance.

 

Pranavi’s achievement also helped India secure the silver medal in the women’s team event alongside Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar. Pranavi led the Indian challenge with 15-under-par 265, while Aditi finished with a strong final-round 67 and Diksha signed off with a 77 on the last day, as India closed at 14-under-par 546 to finish second behind China. The result marks a significant milestone for Indian women’s golf and showcases the country’s growing strength on the continental stage.
