Ribhav Verma emerged victorious in the WAGR round of the Kolkata Junior & Amateur Masters 2025, the seventh leg of the IGU East Zone Junior and Amateur Feeder Tour, held in Kolkata. The WAGR-recognised third round was hosted on Day 3 of the tournament.
Playing consistently across all three days, Ribhav shot rounds of 68, 65, and 69 to finish at a remarkable total of 202, topping the leaderboard in the amateur division.
Samridh Sen secured second place with rounds of 74, 72, and 72, finishing with a total score of 218. Jashan Bhaarat Shah followed in third, posting 76 in all three rounds for a total of 226.
Andrew Baid made a strong final-day push with a 71 after earlier rounds of 81 and 80, taking fourth place at 232. Rony Mondol rounded off the top five with a 241, following rounds of 80, 79, and 82.
The Kolkata Junior & Amateur Masters 2025 continued the competitive momentum of the East Zone feeder circuit, with strong performances and key WAGR ranking opportunities on the line.
Ribhav said, “Started with a bogey and tried to come back with birdies in the back nine. Made a few mistakes, so didn’t pull as many putts. Just need to move on some putts again. Otherwise, the first round was pretty good. I was winning a lot of putts. Trying to make it in the fairway, and it just made me think that I can work those putts.”
Samridh said, “I didn’t have a good run over 3 days and dropped too many shots. I mean, there are a lot of areas to improve, and I wasn’t at my best, but I dropped shots where I shouldn’t have. I missed a 2-footer today, so I mean missing a 2-footer is not acceptable, but I will work on my mistakes and come back better the next time.”
Chairman and Managing Director, Keventer Group, Mayank Jalan, said, “As the final round of the Kolkata Junior Masters 2025 unfolds, we celebrate determination, skills and sportsmanship of every junior golfer. This is where champions rise, and every shot counts. Wishing all the young and budding golfers, champions of the future, a very good luck on their win!”
