Ranjit Singh and Gaurav Ghosh win their respective categories in the IGU Mid-Amateur and Senior Championship 2025, which was being held at the Classic Golf and Country Club, from July 22 to July 25.

Ranjit Singh: Winner, Mid Amateur category

Overnight leader in the Mid-Amateur category, Bengal golfer Ranjit Singh (72-69-65-73) shot a 1-over 73 in the fourth round. At an overall score of 7-under 281, Singh won the Mid-Amateur category.

Haryana golfer Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar (72-73-72-70) shot a 2-under 70 in the fourth round, and at a total score of 1-under 287, finished second in the Mid-Amateur category. Lt. Col. Parmar was followed by Bengal golfer Arjun Singh (78-69-71-70), who finished third at an overall even par score of 288.

The Seniors, divided into three age categories, namely, Senior A (55-59 years), Senior B (60-64 years) and Senior C (65 years and above), played a total of 54 holes over three rounds.

Gaurav Ghosh: Winner, Senior A category

Overnight leader, Bengal golfer Gaurav Ghosh (70-75-70) shot a 2-under 70 in the fourth round, and at an overall score of 1-under 215, Ghosh clinched victory in the Senior A (55-59 years) category. Ghosh also won the Senior A, B & C Combined category.

Karnataka’s golfer David D’ Souza (74-73-73) finished second in the Senior A (55-59 years) category at an overall score of 220, followed by Arunachal Pradesh’s Col. Hemanta Panging (70-80-79), who finished third in the Senior A (55-59 years) category. D’ Souza finished second in the Senior A, B & C Combined category.

Sandeep Sandhu: Winner, Senior B category

Chandigarh’s Sandeep Sandhu (78-73-74) and Punjab’s Col. Kuldip Singh Sandhu (72-73-80) tied for the first place in the Senior B (60-65 years) category at an overall score of 225. Through an exciting play-off, Sandeep Sandhu clinched victory, while Col. Sandhu finished second. Uttar Pradesh golfer Ankush Prakash (80-74-73) finished third at an overall score of 227.

Amandeep Singh Bajwa: Winner, Senior C category

Overnight leader in the Senior C (65 years and above) category, Amandeep Singh Bajwa (75-78-71) won his category at an overall score of 224. Delhi’s Gangesh Khaitan (76-79-75) finished second at an overall score of 230, followed by Uttar Pradesh’s Vijay Kumar (79-74-79), who finished third in the Senior C (65 years and above) category, at an overall score of 232.
