The BMW PGA Championship 2026 at Wentworth Club got off to an exciting start, with England’s Aaron Rai (-6) and Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren (-6) carding impressive opening rounds of 66 to share the lead after Round 1.

Just one shot behind, a trio of players sit at -5. America’s Ryan Gerard (-5) continued his strong form, while Australia’s Adam Scott (-5) showed his class on the West Course. Sweden’s Ludvig Åberg (-5) and Spain’s Nacho Elvira (-5) also joined the group, ensuring a tightly packed leaderboard at the top.

A large group of players are tied at -4, including Norway’s Viktor Hovland (-4), America’s Patrick Reed (-4) and Johannes Veerman (-4), New Zealand’s Ryan Fox (-4), Belgium’s Thomas Detry (-4), Denmark’s Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen (-4), Germany’s Freddy Schott (-4) and Nicolai von Dellingshausen (-4), Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre (-4), France’s Antoine Rozner (-4), and Italy’s Filippo Celli (-4).
