Lt Col VAROON PARMAR, WINNER MID AMATEUR
Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar and David D’Souza clinch victory in their respective categories at the IGU Mid Amateur and Senior Golf Tournament, which was being held at the prestigious Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata, from June 17 to June 19.
Torrential downpour during the day washed away the third and final round of the IGU Mid Amateur and Senior Golf Tournament at Kolkata, scheduled to be held on Friday, June 19, due to which the final round had to be suspended. Thus, the combined scores of the first two rounds, held on June 17 and June 18 decided the podium finishers for the tournament.

ARJUN SINGH, RUNNER UP MID AMATEUR
In the Mid Amateur category, seasoned golfer Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar (72-71) played a better second round, shooting a 1-under 71 after an even par score of 72 in the first round. Overnight leader in the Mid Amateur category, West Bengal golfer Arjun Singh (70-73), who opened with a 2-under 70, shot a 1-over 73 in the second round. At an overall score of 1-under 143, Lt. Col. Parmar and Singh jointly won the Mid Amateur category.
Bengal’s Karan Singh (76-70) played a better second round in which he shot a 2-under 70, following a 76 in the opening round and at a total of 146, finished third in the Mid Amateur category, followed by Bengal’s Ranjit Singh (73-74) who finished fourth at a total score of 147.

David Douza, winner IGU ALL INDIA SENIORS
Seasoned Karnataka golfer David D’Souza (73-75), who opened with a 1-over 73, but had a difficult second round in which he shot a 75, scored an overall of 148, to win the Overall Senior category.
D’Souza also won the Seniors B category (60-64 years).

Col Hemanta Panging, winner 55 to 59 years
Arunachal Pradesh golfer Col. Hemanta Panging (77-75) and Bengal’s Gaurav Ghosh (76-76) finished tied second in the Overall Senior category with a total score of 152.
Col. Panging and Ghosh also jointly won the Seniors A category (55-59 years).
Rajasthan golfer Pushpendu Rathore (77-77), finished fourth in the Overall Senior category and second in the Seniors B category (60-64 years) with a total score of 154.
Uttar Pradesh golfer Ashish Kapoor (79-76) finished third in the Seniors A category (55-59 years) at a total score of 155.
Delhi’s Dilip Sharma (80-78) finished third in the Seniors B category (60-64 years) at an overall score of 158.

Gangesh Khaitan, Winner 65 years & above
Delhi’s Seasoned golfer Gangesh Khaitan (81-75), overnight leader over two consecutive rounds in Seniors C category (65 years and above), won his category at a total score of 156.
Delhi’s Amit Luthra (81-79) and Bengal’s Lakshman Singh (78-85) finished second and third in the Seniors C category (65 years and above) at total scores of 160 and 163 respectively.
